Welcome to Sweet Fi’s Cakes


Specializing in wedding cakes and dessert buffets, Sweet Fi’s Cakes serves the Sandhills area of North Carolina. This area, which includes Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and surrounding areas, is well known for its beauty, which invites many to plan weddings and receptions here.

Proprietor and cake designer, Fiona McKenzie, stays up to date on new trends and is always exploring new ideas. She works very closely with the bride and no request is too much. Sweet Fi’s offers custom design only — no cookie cutter cakes, no packet mix and no

Crisco is used. Fiona uses only free range eggs and can use Italian meringue butter cream or fondant. Any flower can be made out of sugar, or Fi works closely with a florist to coordinate if you wish to use fresh flowers.

In the past three yearsFiona has been awarded  7 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals and best in show at four American Culinary Federation (ACF) competitions in the professional wedding cake and novelty cake category (see the “What’s New” page). Her cakes have been featured in People Magazine, Real Weddings, Cake Central Magazine, and twice in The Knot  North Carolina Bridal Magazine. She is also a student of Nicholas Lodge of the International Sugar Art Collection.
